Piano lessons for children in NW London

Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a children's piano teacher in St. John's Wood, Regent's Park, Little Venice or Maida Vale? Hopefully, these answers will help with your queries. If we've missed something, please get in touch.
01
How do we book?
Simply get in touch via email or the contact form. I just need to know the age of the child(ren), whether they have any piano experience, and your preferred day / time. I also need your postcode, and whether you already have any keyboard at home (even a basic digital keyboard is fine).
02
I'm unsure, can you do a trial lesson?
No problem. This gives us both a chance to see if I'm a good fit for your child.
You only pay for that lesson. After the trial lesson, if you would like to secure your regular slot, then you pay a half-term at a time, in advance.
There is usually a waiting list, so it's best to add your name for when a space is available.
03
Does my child need to be able to play already?
Absolutely not! I am specifically a beginners piano teacher, mostly teaching children, but it's never too late to start.
If you have already passed Grade 4 then I may refer you to an associate tutor.

We'd prefer our children to learn at home
That's fine, most of my clients prefer the comfort of their own home and it saves them time travelling. Most now prefer lessons via Zoom, at a time that suits your life.
If you don't already have a keyboard or piano at home then I can advise you on some suggested keyboards that cost as little as £100. No need for a Steinway just yet!
If teaching in-person in your home I add a modest £5 travel charge to the lesson fee.

How does the waiting list work?
We operate a waiting list for lessons in your home. Simply register your interest, and preferred lesson slot, and when one becomes available in your postcode we'll be back in touch.
Or, opt for video 1:1 lessons via Zoom.
07
Is it hard to learn piano?
It's amazing how quickly kids can pick it up, especially as they're learning two things... playing, and reading music. With a little encouragement from parents, children love to practice in-between lessons, and that makes a huge difference to how quickly they progress.
